Procurement agent for industry

Quote long-tail parts at their real cost in reais.

Cotafuso organizes the requisition, gets quotes from suppliers in Brazil and abroad, and compares every offer by net cost: ICMS, IPI and PIS/COFINS credits deducted, and currency converted at a frozen PTAX rate. You approve every step.

In development, with a design partner program open.

Illustrative mock of Cotafuso: an imported and a domestic quote for the same mill part, compared by net cost after taxes, credits and freight.

Illustrative mock with synthetic data: the same numbers as the example below.

Built for

Sectors

One quoting engine, configured per sector.

Each sector is a pack: categories, qualifications, documents and calendar. The net cost math, the PTAX rate and the audit trail are the same in every pack.

    Importers and distributors

For companies that buy abroad to resell: landed cost per item and margin in reais before the order is placed.

    • Landed cost by NCM code
    • Exchange rate per shipment
    • Margin per item

How it works

From requisition to approved order, in six steps.

The agent does the repetitive work in each step. No message goes to a supplier and no order is placed without approval from someone on your team.

  1. Connects your data Available

Order history, parts and suppliers come in by spreadsheet (CSV or Excel), with errors flagged row by row before anything is saved.

  2. Organizes the requisition Available

Item, quantity, need-by date and required certifications, with missing fields flagged before quoting.

  3. Invites suppliers In development

Suppliers in Brazil and abroad, with the CNPJ checked before the invitation and the RFQ in Portuguese, English or Chinese.

  4. Compares by net cost In development

Every offer in reais, with freight, import taxes, recoverable credits and the PTAX rate frozen on the same date.

  5. Negotiates with your approval In development

Counteroffers drafted from the other offers and the price history. You approve, edit or discard each one.

  6. Recommends and follows up In development

A decision package with the math shown, the approval recorded in the audit trail, and the order milestones through to receipt.

Illustrative mock with synthetic data. Invitations, comparison and approval are in development.

Illustrative example

The math a quote spreadsheet doesn’t do.

One example per pack, built from demo data. In each one, the cheapest offer on the quote is not the cheapest once taxes, credits and exchange rates are counted.

Mechanical seal for a cane juice pump, 1 unit

A maintenance part (use and consumption) at a mill taxed on actual profit (lucro real): no ICMS or IPI credit; PIS/COFINS credit as a production input.

FAQ

Hard questions, straight answers.

Is Cotafuso in production?

No. The product is in development: spreadsheet import, parts and supplier records and requisitions already work; supplier invitations, comparison, negotiation and ordering are being built. Every product number on this page comes from demo data.

Does the AI buy on its own?

No. The agent proposes and a person approves. No RFQ, counteroffer or order goes out without approval from someone on your team, and every approval is recorded in an audit trail that cannot be changed.

Does the credit calculation replace my tax team?

No. It follows the rules set for each item (tax regime, use and NCM code) and shows the math line by line for your tax team to check. An item without a defined rule is flagged for review.

Which exchange rate is used?

The Central Bank of Brazil’s PTAX selling rate, frozen on a single date for every offer in the same quote. The date and the rate are recorded with the comparison.

What about the tax reform (CBS and IBS)?

In 2026, CBS and IBS have test rates that are informational and offset against PIS/COFINS. In 2027, PIS/COFINS ends and CBS takes full effect. The comparison is built to follow that transition year by year.

What happens to my company’s data?

Each company is a separate environment in the database, and every action is recorded in the audit trail. Data processing terms under the LGPD, Brazil’s data protection law, are agreed before any real data enters the pilot.

Does it work with my ERP?

In the pilot, data comes in by spreadsheet (CSV or Excel): order history, parts and suppliers. Direct ERP integration is assessed case by case.

How much does it cost?

There is no price list yet. Pilot terms are agreed with each design partner, and team and enterprise plans are on request.

Shall we look at your purchasing together?

In 30 minutes we show you the product with demo data and see whether your case fits the pilot.
